Have a magical afternoon of bonding and creating as you and your child / grandchild produce a fabulous piece of art together!
We will have some small objects in our studio for you to purchase, such as frames, boxes and trays, but we strongly encourage you to bring something to transform from home! Local craft stores like AC Moore and Michael's are also a great place to find unfinished wood or glass pieces to adorn.

No sewing experience necessary! This hand sewing project is a great introduction to how fun sewing can be! Learn easy decorative stitches, such as the chain & blanket stitch. More advanced students can show off their skills and create an even more decorative piece!

WATERCOLOR PAINTING

This workshop is designed for those who wish to acquire some basic skills in watercolor painting. A variety of materials and techniques will be discussed, including the selection of papers, brushes, and pigments. Students will learn about transparent and opaque painting methods, effective color mixing; tonal value and the color/value relationships. We will also cover how to plan your painting and basic composition.

PAINTING

Beginner students will explore the elements of painting — color, form, tone and technique — integrated with compositional theory. More advanced students will continue to grow building on the skills they already have and acquiring new ones.

MACHINE SEWING
Beginner
Tuesdays, 10:00 - 11:30 AM
Students will become acquainted with their machine and how to use it. They will learn basic fabric cutting & measuring, stitching, hemming and seam finishing as well as other other basic yet crucial techniques. All this and more will be learned through making an exciting project!

MOSAICS

Wednesdays, 8:00 - 9:30 PM
The best thing about mosaics is they always look great! Use a range of mediums including glass, unglazed ceramics, tiles, stones, broken dishes and even small found and recycled objects. Explore texture, scale and spacing. Learn to achieve various effects through different cutting and laying techniques. We will have objects in our studio for you to purchase, but we strongly encourage you to bring something to transform from home!
